Contest results: drawing of Anastasija Volkova to be printed on e-ticket

"Rīgas satiksme" has concluded the e-ticket’s design contest on its website, and the drawing of Anastasija Volkova (see the picture) will be printed on yellow e-tickets later this year, after receiving 1795 votes from the website visitors. A total of 9036 of votes were given for children’s drawings published on the website, and the results of an opinion poll held on the website evidence that 38% of visitors voted for the e-ticket’s new design. The voting started on May 19 and ended on June 30.

The drawing of Sofija Trofimova was ranked second with 1783 votes and that of Arsenijs Zimovs was ranked third with 1125 votes. 28 drawings were sent to the contest, and everybody could vote for them once a day, from one computer.

Despite changing its design, the e-ticket will keep all its functions.

Five years ago "Rīgas satiksme" started a new tradition, offering little Rigans to create the design of yellow e-tickets, which are issued twice a year. This year "Rīgas satiksme" established co-operation with pupils of children and youth centre "Mīlgrāvis", whose drawings were about "Culture and communication in Riga", thus marking the status of Riga as the European capital of culture in 2014. Every visitor of the company’s website at www.rigassatiksme.lv could vote for the drawing he/she liked the best, thus participating in the creation of the e-ticket’s new design.
